Gender-Friendly Jazz Jam: Where Everyone Can Play

The semi-annual “Gender Friendly Jam” brings together jazz musicians in a relaxed environment, where the house rhythm section is femme-identifying and the tunes to be performed explicitly include LGBT composers. Hosted by Nomadic Ant Jewelry in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, GFJ intends to be a supportive environment for those taking their first steps towards improvising in public, as well as a meeting space for the women and non-cis men of the jazz community to gather.
